About

We are just a Korean family living in Canada, eh?

OPPA aka Head Chef

Husband, dad, middle-aged man. In Korean, the term “OPPA” is used by little sisters to call their older brothers. However, like calling a spouse “baby” in English, it is often used as a term of endearment by couples as well. I started using it since we were dating, so it doesn’t seem like the habit will break easily. A natural in the kitchen, he doesn’t use measuring tools of any kind.

Useless superpowers: Can usually figure out ingredients of a dish by tasting it. Can handle alcohol and spicy foods freakishly well.

The Wife aka Content Creator

Wife, mom, middle-aged woman. Dreams of working from home and making it a full-time job. Cannot cook very well and refuses to try. Makes dubious attempts at learning some Korean cooking. Would rather read a book.

Useless superpower: Can sleep like a champion. Ability to get supercharged energy from random inspiration leading to mega-bursts of productivity (sadly doesn’t last very long).

Child 1 aka Girl

Daughter, sister, big kid. Imaginative, creative and talks a mile-a-minute. Gets distracted very easily but has the charm and personality to get what she wants.

Useless superpower: Unlimited energy and ideas for made-up games with 100 rules.

Child 2 aka Boy

Son, brother, little kid. Intelligent, focused and driven to learn. Loves school. Obsessed with Lego kits and forgets everything else until it’s completed.

Useless superpower: Can recite the alphabet backwards. Spontaneous dancing ability whenever he feels like it.
